In a shocking incident in the Timarpur area of North Delhi, a 26-year-old man reportedly shot and killed his father after a dispute over seating arrangements in a rented vehicle intended for a trip to their ancestral home in Uttarakhand. This information was confirmed by police sources on Friday.
The accused, identified as Deepak, was apprehended at the scene, where authorities also recovered the firearm used in the crime along with 11 cartridges. The shooting occurred around 7:30 PM on Thursday near the MS Block in Timarpur, where patrolling officers heard gunfire and rushed to the location.
Upon arrival, police found a bloodied individual lying on the pavement, while locals attempted to wrest the gun from the suspect. The victim was identified as 60-year-old Surendra Singh, a retired sub-inspector from the CISF.
Sources indicated that Singh was transported to HRH Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff. The bullet had struck him on the left cheek, resulting in multiple facial injuries.
Initial investigations revealed that Surendra Singh's family had been preparing to relocate to their ancestral village in Uttarakhand after his retirement from the CISF six months prior. According to police insiders, a heated argument erupted between Surendra and Deepak regarding who would occupy the front seat of the vehicle they had rented for moving their belongings. Authorities have registered a murder case and are continuing their investigation.
